PM: Belarus can build waste treatment plants in Russia's Pskov Oblast

PSKOV, 29 August (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to build waste treatment facilities in Pskov Oblast, Belarus' Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he met with Pskov Oblast Governor Mikhail Vedernikov, BelTA has learned.

“Belarusian construction organizations have a lot of experience in working in Russian regions, mostly Voronezh, Kaluga, St. Petersburg, Bryansk. We need to discuss this topic with Pskov Oblast and come up with specific projects. The topic of building engineering and public utility networks, in particular gas supply networks, is also very important. If there is a need to involve additional organizations, our gas workers have enough capacity to participate in this work. We just need to understand the demand, the scale, and we will quickly get the ball rolling,” the Belarusian head of government emphasized.

He also noted that Pskov Oblast pays great attention to the housing and utilities sector, its upgrade, and the improvement of living conditions of people in large cities and small towns. “I am glad that Belarusian utility equipment is in demand. I suggest tapping into other avenues of cooperation. We have very good proposals for the turnkey construction of modern waste recycling, waste sorting plants and complexes of varying capacity for various towns. These facilities can transform waste into a commodity. We are ready to show how it works if you are interested,” suggested Roman Golovchenko.

“As for the education sector, there is a very good project to create an advanced engineering school of hybrid technologies in machine tool building. We are interested in the maximum involvement of enterprises in this project that will train a new generation of engineers,” said the prime minister.
