MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) - Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin attended a groundbreaking ceremony for Belarusian Machinery Center in St. Petersburg, BelTA has learned.
Belarus plans to use this multi-brand platform to enhance the efficiency of promoting Belarusian machinery on the Russian market.

“We made the decision to take this step because we are convinced of St. Petersburg's significant development potential as one of the most powerful hubs on the Eurasian continent. This is also evidenced by the Russian Industrialist 2025 international forum and exhibition that opened today. This project would have been impossible without the trusting and open relations that have developed between Belarus and the city's leadership, personally with the governor,” Aleksandr Turchin said.
The prime minister added that during a recent meeting etween the Belarusian president and Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, bilateral cooperation was described as a priority. "I am confident that our joint efforts will repeatedly demonstrate high results and make a substantial contribution to the development of our relations,” the Belarusian head of government noted.

“St. Petersburg is at the forefront of our efforts to build comprehensive distribution chains for Belarusian products, not only within the city but far beyond its borders. In addition to its high market capacity, St. Petersburg possesses significant transport and logistics capabilities. While the supply of products to St. Petersburg, primarily engineering goods, remains highly relevant, it is increasingly being supported by the establishment of high-tech assembly plants,” Aleksandr Turchin said.
The prime minister noted that Belarus and St. Petersburg have been developing strategic trade and economic cooperation for a long time. The parties are constantly working on finding new forms of interaction. The establishment of a multi-brand center for Belarusian machinery is a logical continuation of the joint work. This is the first facility of its kind in the territory of the Northwestern Federal District of Russia.”
