MOSCOW, 3 March (BelTA) – A roadmap on implementing the transport policy of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2021-2023 will be discussed at a session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in H1 2021, BelTA has learned.
The Eurasian Economic Commission has already drafted the roadmap. The document provides for harmonizing the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union member states, introducing digital transport documents, developing mixed and container transportation. It also provides for the comprehensive development of Eurasian transport corridors, including transport and logistics hubs. Plans have been made to improve oversight over the movement of oversized and heavy vehicles and synchronize the procedures used for transporting hazardous cargoes.
Efforts will be exercised to improve the passage of vessels along inland waterways. The development of transportation by rail will focus on the introduction of digital technologies, the resolution of the problem of getting advance freight information from third countries.
As far as civil aviation is concerned, the Eurasian Economic Union member states will continue working to lift restrictions on passenger and freight transportation by air.
