MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) – The management of Belgazprombank is supposed to be formed in December, BelTA learned from the head of Belgazprombank's provisional administration Nadezhda Yermakova on 24 November.
The official said: “We hope that the period of work of the provisional administration will be finished soon, in December and the management of the bank will be formed. Work on it is in progress. The owner has already made proposals on a number of candidates for the bank's management.”
She stressed that her report to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko had also touched upon the progress that had been secured. “The period of work of the provisional administration is nearly over. I informed [the head of state] about what was done in this period. I would like to say that bank clients have probably forgotten what shocks Belgazprombank had experienced,” Nadezhda Yermakova remarked.
In her words, one cannot say that people are taking their savings out of the bank. “The outflow stopped a long time ago. The situation is as good as the overall situation in the country's banking system,” she noted. She said she does not believe the outflow of deposits is connected to the situation in Belgazprombank and the introduction of provisional administration.
Nadezhda Yermakova said that the bank operates in normal mode now. “There is one thing I should mention – the active assets have been reduced by about Br1 billion because sources of finance and sources of lending have shrunk. Life goes on. The bank has earned a profit. The actual profit in January-October even exceeded projections a bit.”
