ISLAMABAD, 25 November (BelTA) – Pakistan is interested in cooperation with Belarus in the hydrocarbon industry, Pakistani Federal Minister of Commerce, co-chairman of the Belarus-Pakistan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation Jam Kamal Khan said on the sidelines of the Belarus-Pakistan Business Forum in Islamabad, BelTA has learned.
“Pakistan has great potential in the hydrocarbon industry. Some of our companies have been operating in Pakistan for 70 years. Belarus has significant engineering expertise in this field. We would like to study Belarusian technologies. At the moment, this area is of mutual interest to both countries,” said Jam Kamal Khan.
He noted that Belarus and Pakistan have long established close cooperation in mechanical engineering and agriculture. For example, BELARUS tractors have been operated in Pakistan since Soviet times.
“At the same time, we try to diversify our trade by including leather goods, pharmaceuticals. There is great potential in cooperation in agriculture, food production. We are interested in engineering equipment made in Belarus. So I believe there are many ways we can use to expand our cooperation. We would like to identify the obstacles that hold us back and remove them,” the minister said.
