MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) – More than 30 Belarusian specialists arrived in Uruguay in December to work in the region's biggest company UPM Uruguay, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Brazil.
The company comprises two pulp mills and a timber harvesting and supply enterprise.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Brazil with concurrent accreditation to Uruguay Sergei Lukashevich said: “The arrival of highly-qualified Belarusian specialists in this Latin American country became possible thanks to the coordinated work of Honorary Consul of Belarus in Uruguay Sebastian Asis Andreiuk and Honorary Consul of Uruguay in Belarus Aleksandr Chebotarevsky. As it turned out, Belarus' best practices and specialists are in demand in Uruguay.
“Belarusian qualified specialists in Uruguay continue traditions and strengthen relations with Latin America. The arrival of Belarusians to the country serves as a basis for further diversification of our trade and economic relations and a launching pad for the promotion of Belarusian technologies and joint projects,” the diplomat stressed.
