MINSK, 21 July (BelTA) - Over 2.9 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been cropped in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 21 July, 2.907 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which includes over 2 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 851,000 tonnes of winter rapeseed.
Gomel Oblast and Brest Oblast are finishing harvesting winter rapeseed (99.7% and 98.5% respectively).
The regional breakdown is the following: Brest Oblast harvested 797,200 tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Minsk Oblast 693,000 tonnes, Grodno Oblast 668,600 tonnes, Gomel Oblast 347,000 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast 266,600 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 134,500 tonnes.
As to other crops, Belarusian farmers have already cropped 52% of spring barley, 35% of winter rye, 19% of wheat, 16% of triticale, 12.5% of legumes, and 7.6% of oats. All oblasts have completed harvesting winter barley.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 21,200 hectares, which is 47.4% of the area under this crop.
Over 3.26 million tonnes of grass feed was harvested (33.2% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 11.6 million tonnes of fertilizers (88.з% of the target) were placed on the fields in the run-up to sowing winter crops, 1.95 million tonnes (15%) of fertilizers have already been applied.
