MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) - Representatives of more than 160 enterprises of Belarus and Kazakhstan are taking part in an online meeting of the business council, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich told the media, BelTA has learned.
“Today, more than 60 companies from Kazakhstan and 103 Belarusian companies have registered to participate in the meeting of our business council. Unfortunately, it is a web-based platform for negotiations due to the pandemic. The restrictive measures hamper our interaction in traditional forms, but still the business council is our special form of interaction where enterprises work directly with the support of chambers, our diplomatic missions, and ministries not only to confirm intentions but to turn them into new business and commercial projects,” Vladimir Ulakhovich noted.
Speaking about bilateral relations between Belarus and Kazakhstan, Vladimir Ulakhovich stressed that the economies of the two countries complement each other. “Our complementarity also is reflected in the trade commodity range. Products of Belarusian engineering have been in steady demand in the Kazakhstan market for many years, and the seven assembly plants that operate there are the infrastructure that will help us to develop our industrial cooperation further. Belarusian products enjoy a good demand,” he said.
Vladimir Ulakhovich suggested tapping into new niches to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. "We need joint facilities to make high value-added products based on innovative technologies," said Vladimir Ulakhovich.
