Orsha Linen Mill, Russia's Soyuztextile-ST to develop cooperation

MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) - Orsha Flax Mill and the Russian company Soyuztextile-ST signed a memorandum of intent on cooperation on the sidelines of TIBO-2022. The parties are set to work on the project to set up an import-substituting production of non-woven cotton-linen fabric "spunlace in Kursk, BelTA has learned.

Cooperation will concentrate on two areas: import-substituting production of non-woven fabric and manufacture of hygienic, medical products made of linen and also technical fabric of the "tarpaulin" type, which is used to make overalls for workers in hot industries.

Soyuztextile-ST will provide a production site in Kursk, purchase the equipment for the project and hire the personnel.

In turn, Orsha Linen Mill will be responsible for the joint development of technology to manufacture spunlace non-woven fabric and the production of hygienic products from flax and cotton. It will supply flax raw materials for the production of import-substituting goods.

Orsha Linen Mill is the largest manufacturer of linen yarn, fabrics, and goods in the CIS and Europe. Export accounts for more than 80% of the company's total output. The company sells into over 40 countries. Major commodity groups: linen fabrics (household, container), finished garments, cotonized fiber, short fiber yarn, products for industrial and technical purposes.

Soyuztextile-ST manufactures a wide range of high-tech materials for various industries. Thanks to the unique innovative developments, the company is one of the leading manufacturers of technical textiles in Russia. For many years, the company has been a supplier of polyamide and polyester filaments from the CIS countries and Asia.
