MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) – The government and business need to build up a dialogue of mutual trust, Irina Babachenok, deputy head of the regional development and property relations department at the Economy Ministry of Belarus, said during a roundtable "The state is a partner: Strengthening dialogue and mutual trust" in Minsk on 3 February, BelTA has learned.
“The draft social and economic development program of Belarus for 2021-2025 envisages steps to strengthen the dialogue between the government and business. A number of institutions and dialogue platforms have already been established for this purpose. Public advisory councils have been set up at the government bodies and entrepreneurship promotion councils at the district executive committees. But at the same time, we think that some things are missing, and we need to improve the work on this front,” Irina Babachenok noted.
According to her, these dialogue platforms were created to improve the quality of business regulation. "The tools are already there, at the regulatory level. We have introduced an institution such as regulatory impact assessment. There are a lot of platforms for the implementation of this institution. I would like this toolkit to be developed further,” she said.
"Dialogue is always two-way. We are ready for it, but we would like to have a comprehensive feedback from business. Sometimes we do not see a clearly articulated response. In order for your opinions to influence something, you need to voice them," Irina Babachenok stressed.
