MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – It is important that cooperation between Belarus and African countries should be a two-way communication, like a two-way street, Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolai Borisevich said as he attended the opening of the 2nd Belarusian-African Economic Forum on 31 May, BelTA has learned.
“Your initiatives and proposals are very important for us. We are open for a dialogue. As the agency responsible for foreign trade, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to provide any practical support,” Nikolai Borisevich said. “I would like to address the Belarusian participants of the forum: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the network of our embassies abroad is working for your benefit. Sometimes representatives of companies ask us whether they get assistance from a Belarusian embassy. The answer is obvious: they should. We have provided and will continue providing the necessary consulting assistance and organizational support for your projects, regardless of your company's form of ownership,” he stressed.
The fact that around 230 representatives of 175 Belarusian companies are taking part in the opening of the forum demonstrates that Belarusian businesses are ready to step up cooperation with African partners, Nikolai Borisevich noted.
Representatives of African countries will be able to see the potential of Belarusian companies at the Belagro 2021 expo and during a visit to the MTZ tractor maker.
If we join efforts, we will be able to use the untapped potential of our economic cooperation, Nikolai Borisevich believes. “This is the main practical task for the organizers of the 2nd Belarusian-African Economic Forum,” he added.
