MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Belarus’ accession to the SCO opens up new opportunities for expanding sales markets for products made at the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone, head of the administration of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone Aleksandr Yaroshenko told reporters after the opening of the Exhibition of Chinese Goods and Services 2024, BelTA has learned.
Belarus’ accession to the SCO is not just a significant, but an epochal event, Aleksandr Yaroshenko remarked. “By expanding our cooperation, we can supply more goods produced in Belarus. At present, we ship our products to about 20 countries, and we can enter new markets. The government has set the task to increase the export of products, goods and services to half a billion dollars in the medium term. This is a high bar for us, but we intend to achieve it, and we will make the most of our participation in the SCO to do it,” he noted.
Industry is the top priority, but medicine, information and communication technologies, international logistics, e-commerce, and trade will also give a serious boost to the development of not only the industrial park, but the entire domestic economy, added Aleksandr Yaroshenko.
