No shortage of imported materials in Belarusian construction industry

MOGILEV, 11 May (BelTA) – There is no shortage of imported materials in the construction industry. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko made the statement as he summarized results of the conference held at premises of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee on 11 May to discuss problems of the civil engineering industry, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko stressed: “There is no shortage of materials. The availability of construction materials and raw materials is about 85%.”

Stable supply of domestic raw materials is a result of the Belarusian government's work in the last few years. “All the investments poured by the state into the construction industry in the last few years come in handy now,” Roman Golovchenko noted.

The prime minister stressed that the missing construction materials can be bought in the Russian Federation. Apart from that, Belarus' export of construction materials is on the rise. Export of cement has risen by 20% while export of foamed concrete has increased by practically 40%. The export of ceramic tiles has increased as well. “There is plenty for the home market and for export. This is why there is no shortage here,” Roman Golovchenko summarized.
