No compensatory interbudgetary transfers in Belarus-Russia oil trade in 2021

MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) – No interbudgetary transfers will be used as part of Belarus-Russia oil trade transactions in 2021, BelTA learned from Belarusian Finance Minister Yuri Seliverstov on 28 December.

The official said: “The main decisions [concerning oil supplies] have been made for the current period. This year we do not consider interbudgetary transfers as a compensatory factor for the future.”

In his words, oil delivery contracts for the year 2021 have been signed on similar yet slightly different terms. There is no budgetary component in them.

In 2020 Belarus received transfers from the Russian state budget as a compensation for the premium on the oil Belarus bought from Russian companies.

Belarusian First Deputy Finance Minister Dmitry Kiyko explained that Belarus will get 90% of this year's interbudgetary transfers in 2020. Next year Belarus will get the transfers it is owed for December 2020.
