MINSK, 14 January (BelTA) - It is necessary to pay more attention to the protection of the domestic market and support of domestic producers, new Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Artur Karpovich told the media, BelTA has learned.
The minister was asked what changes he could note in the sector he is going to head, given the fact that until 2019 Artur Karpovich worked in the MART system and held the post of first deputy minister.
“During this time, the share of domestically produced goods has significantly decreased in our retail trade. In my opinion, this is a big minus. Our enterprises have increased their export volumes, developed new markets. At the same time, it seems to me that more attention should be paid to protecting the domestic market and supporting our producers. The year will be difficult,” Artur Karpovich said.
