Nearly 448,000t of winter barley threshed in Belarus

MINSK, 2 July (BelTA) – Winter barley has been harvested from the area of 118,300 hectares, or 45% of the plan, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

First grass was cut on the area of 1,397,200 hectares (99.4%) and removed from the area of 1,361,100 hectares, which is 97.4% of the grass cut. Second grass was cut on the area of 382,000 hectares and removed from the area of 336,800 hectares, which is 88.2% of the grass cut.

Belarus harvested 8,832,900 tonnes of haylage (66.3%), 282,200 tonnes of hay (40.3%), and 227,900 tonnes of silage (1.11%). Some 27.3% of the grass feed was stocked.

Winter rapeseed for grain was harvested from 3,490 hectares (65.1% of the harvested area), and 3,870 tonnes were threshed with a yield of 11.1 c/ha. Winter barley was harvested from the area of 118,300 hectares, or 45% of the harvested area, and 447,500 tonnes were threshed with a yield of 37.8 c/ha.
