MINSK, 12 February (BelTA) – Every fifth international exhibition where Belarus is going to take part this year will be held in Africa, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov said during an onsite seminar to discuss investment and export potential of the Belarusian economy that was held in the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone, BelTA learned.

According to Mikhail Myatlikov,  participation of Belarusian exporting companies in international exhibitions and fairs abroad is one of the key instruments of non-financial support for exports. In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 177 of 11 May 2018, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry coordinates the participation of the Republic of Belarus in exhibitions and fairs in foreign countries.

“This is a very popular and effective way to boost market presence, find new niches and enter new markets. Last year, the chamber arranged 37 exhibitions, including two national exhibitions in Azerbaijan and China. The plans for this year are even more ambitious - 41 exhibitions, including two national expositions in China and Equatorial Guinea. Eight exhibitions, that is, every fifth one, are to be held in African countries,” the chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted.

The seminar discussed implementation of Belarus' investment policy, preferential treatment for investors and export capacity building to promote Belarusian goods abroad.

Before the meeting, the parliamentarians visited a showroom in the R&D business center, an exhibition of unmanned aerial vehicles and ultra-light manned aircraft, studied the operation of the factory that makes gearboxes and the factory that manufactures glass for passenger transport.
