MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – The Minsk-based tractor manufacturer MTZ, the Gomel-based manufacturer of agricultural machines Gomselmash, and the St Petersburg-based manufacturer of heavy tractors Peterburgsky Tractorny Zavod (Kirovets trademark) will sign a cooperation memorandum, the MTZ press service told BelTA.

The draft memorandum provides for the joint development of innovative projects, information sharing, and other measures meant to step up manufacturing cooperation. The document will be signed on the sidelines of the international agricultural expo Belagro 2021 on 3 June.

MTZ Director General Vitaly Vovk said: “It is a pilot project in the area of manufacturing cooperation within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. We expect other major players that operate in the Eurasian Economic Union to join our partnership in the future.”

In his words, cooperation will allow offering a choice of all kinds of agricultural machines starting with walk-behind tractors and ending with heavy tractors and harvesters. “Thanks to joint actions we will be able to bolster the competitive ability of our products not only on the home market but on foreign ones thanks to a higher quality and lower prime costs,” the MTZ director general said.
