Moscow to host CIS International Economic Forum on 28-29 March

MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) - The CIS International Economic Forum will take place in the International Trade Center in Moscow, Russia on 28-29 March, BelTA learned from the CIS Executive Committee.

The forum will feature 21 sections, and more than 2,000 participants. The event will highlight issues related to cooperation between the CIS member states in logistics, customs, construction, industrial cooperation, migration policy, medicine, tourism, sustainable development and other areas. Traditionally, the plenary session will feature members of the CIS Economic Council, the CIS Executive Committee, the EAEU and the SCO executive bodies.

The main goal of the upcoming forum is to move from discussions to closer cooperation in such areas as economy, industry, education, culture, security, infrastructural development. Within the framework of interaction between the CIS, EAEU and SCO, it is important to establish an exchange of experience in the use of new technologies and materials, to start harmonizing technical standards and norms, to form support measures and financing mechanisms for major cross-border projects. This also includes the work on roadmaps and strategies to eliminate transportation barriers, develop payment instruments, improve logistics and create conditions for unimpeded trade and movement of people.

An important aspect of such cooperation is the search for balanced solutions that take into account the interests of all countries and the development of mechanisms for resolving possible conflicts and contradictions. Effective interaction between the countries that are members of the integration associations of the CIS, the EAEU, and the SCO requires not only political will and strategic vision, but also the active participation of business communities, scientific and educational institutions, and civil society.

Thus, the forum with the motto "From dialogue to joint projects" contributes to sustainable development and improving the well-being of the peoples of these integration associations.

The event is held with the support of the CIS Executive Committee with the participation of the CIS Economic Council. The forum has been included in the action plan of Russia's CIS chairmanship in 2024.
