More business development ideas expected from Belarusian entrepreneurs

MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – Belarusian entrepreneurs will be more active in suggesting business development ideas, Vladimir Karyagin, Chairman of the Presidium of the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship, told BelTA.

“The president called on business to be proactive and make its proposals, and we support this. We have long expected such words from the head of state and will contribute actively. According to him, business is already engaged in this work as it is gearing up for the Assembly of Business Circles and drawing up another draft of the national platform for business.

Vladimir Karyagin noted that business must be approached in a systematic and comprehensive way. Business should develop, grow. It is necessary to reduce risks, to create more incentives so that more people try themselves in business, so that small business could grow into medium and medium-large. The world is interconnected. We have entered an era of big changes, digital transformation. The country cannot lag behind this process,” he said.

Talking about the problems, Vladimir Karyagin brought up the topic of small business. “We need a simple transparent legislative framework so that people are not afraid to start a business,” he said. Vladimir Karyagin lamented the absence of business ombudsmen who would help businesses protect their rights. “We need economists to engage in dialogue with business and help resolve problems. Our main factor is time. Today business wastes a lot of time. Such experts would help avoid this,” he noted.
