MOGILEV, 30 December (BelTA) - Bakery and Confectionary Company Domochai intends to supply frozen bakery products to Israel, BelTA learned from the company's general director Natalia Podlesnykh.
"We have found a partner in Israel who got interested in our products. We have reached an arrangement to deliver the first trail batch of frozen malt rye bread to Israel already in January next year. We are confident that our products will find their customers among the Israelis and our former compatriots and we will sign long-term contracts,” said Natalia Podlesnykh.
According to Natalia Podlesnykh, export and market diversification is one of the most important immediate goals for the company. Previously, the company had difficulties exporting its baked goods due to their short shelf-life. The company has installed a modern line to produce deep freeze products which has greatly expanded its export opportunities. The new equipment allows keeping all useful taste qualities and flavor of products.
Domochai uses the new equipment to its full capacity. The average output was between 10 to 15 tonnes in January- November. In December the output will reach 25 tonnes. The company is considering building up the capacity and purchasing additional equipment as the demand has increased. Domochai already supplies frozen malt rye bread to America, Panama, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Russia.
Domochai is one of the largest manufacturers of bakery and confectionery products in Belarus. The company operates seven bakeries in the districts of Mogilev Oblast, and three enterprises in the city of Mogilev. Every day they produce more than 150 tonnes of bakery products and about 20 tonnes of confectionery. The company also produces soft drinks, bread kvass, fruit wine, jam, rye malt.
"Our products are popular in Belarus and abroad thanks to high quality and affordable price. Over the past several years, we have modernized the production lines which today meet the European standards,” said Natalia Podlesnykh.
The company was founded in 1927 as Mogilev bakery. In 1972 it was reorganized into the Mogilev regional production association of the baking industry and in 2001 was renamed into Mogilevkhlebprom. In 2013, the enterprise was reorganized into OAO Bakery and Confectionary Company Domochai.
