MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) - The 25th annual general meeting of the International Association of Exchanges (IAE) will take place in Minsk on 11 June. The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) will host and co-organize the event, the BUCE press service told BelTA.

The event will bring together leaders of commodity, currency and stock exchanges from Europe, Asia, and Africa, along with representatives of antimonopoly authorities from Belarus and Russia, experts from the Eurasian Economic Commission, and specialists in economics, finance, and e-commerce from around the world.

"Perhaps the main feature of the upcoming forum is its unprecedented scale. This concerns both the geographic reach of participants, which goes beyond the CIS countries for the first time, and the topics planned for discussion. Key topics on the agenda include: cross-border exchange trading, international transactions, pricing mechanisms and price indicators, global competition and antitrust regulation, integration processes in commodity and financial markets, artificial intelligence and blockchain technology and others. The goal of the forum is not merely to compare notes and exchange experiences, but to thoroughly analyze relevant issues facing the exchange community and work toward joint constructive solutions," the press service stated.

The program of the general meeting of the IAE includes a plenary session focused on pressing issues of development in commodity and financial markets. Discussions will cover such topics as: the role of exchanges in government economic regulation, principles for forming lists of goods required for exchange trading, establishing an international system of price indicators, the use of clearing in commodity exchange transactions, mutual admission for the placement and circulation of securities, prospects for trading digital financial assets, implementation of ESG [environmental, social, and governance] standards in the exchange sector.

The forum will feature a ceremony to welcome the Chinese platform AEEX as a member of IAE and the signing of a cooperation agreement between BUCE and the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange.

The International Association of Exchanges unites leading currency, stock, and commodity exchanges from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange has been its member since 2011. The chairman of the BUCE Board is a member of the IAE Council.

Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
