Minsk to host Belarus-Poland economic forum on 5 June

MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Poland will arrange an economic forum Good Neighborliness in Minsk on 5 June, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich before a Belarus-Poland business forum on 26 March.

Vladimir Ulakhovich described today's business forum as a preparatory stage ahead of the traditional economic forum Good Neighborliness. The forum will take place simultaneously with the Belagro expo. Regional cooperation, logistics, and IT sphere will be discussed. Poland shows a strong interest in the Belarusian IT industry since the industry develops noticeably rapidly, he remarked.

President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce (Krajowa Izba Gospodarcza) Andrzej Arendarski said they would like to invite Belarusian IT specialists to Warsaw to get familiar with terms of cooperation with Polish partners. On the whole, Belarus-Poland cooperation develops most rapidly in woodworking, metallurgy, power engineering, food industry, and tourism.

Taking part in the Belarusian-Polish business forum are over 100 Belarusian companies from all parts of the country and 13 Polish companies working in civil engineering, introduction of biogas technologies, food production, tobacco products, production of automobile parts, furniture, cast iron products, equipment for food processing industry. Participants of the forum are expected to discuss prospects of Belarus-Poland trade and economic cooperation. Presentations of the business climate of the two countries will take place. B2B talks between representatives of the business circles of Belarus and Poland will take place.
