Minsk to host 2nd Belarusian-African Economic Forum on 31 May-1 June

MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) – The second Belarusian-African Economic Forum will be held in Minsk on 31 May-1 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The aim of the forum is to present economic and export capacities of Belarus and African countries and to facilitate cooperation between embassies of African countries in advancing the bilateral trade and economic cooperation with Belarus and establishment of strong ties between partners.

The forum will be attended by representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other ministries, the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, and the country's export-oriented enterprises from the heavy, light, and food industries, agriculture, mining, and other sectors. Taking part in the event will be the deputy foreign minister of Mozambique, heads and representatives of embassies of African countries in Belarus, honorary consuls of African countries in Minsk, and the heads of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and Union of African Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Professions.

The program of the forum will include a panel session and a roundtable to discuss cooperation between Belarus and African countries as well as a business matchmaking session. The event will also feature bilateral B2D and B2B talks with representatives of the business circles of Egypt. The participants are expected to sign appropriate documents.

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei will meet with ambassadors of African countries to Belarus within the framework of the forum.

Representatives of embassies of African countries in Belarus will also attend the 31st international expo Belagro, meet with Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Ivan Krupko, and visit the MTZ tractor maker where they will meet with the Belarusian deputy industry minister and the company's top managers.
