MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) – During his visit to China's Guangdong Province, Minsk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Turchin invited local enterprises to implement joint projects in the dairy industry, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

“Belarus is a major producer and exporter of foodstuffs, including dairy products. Every year we export about $8 billion worth of food. Minsk Oblast, which I represent, accounts for about 25% of the country's food output. Our main market is Russia, but we export about 11% to China. These are mainly dry products,” Aleksandr Turchin informed.

The Minsk Oblast governor invited representatives of Guangdong Province to come to Minsk Oblast to  visit local companies.

“You will see with your own eyes what products are manufactured at our enterprises: this way you will better understand what kind of products we supply to the Chinese market. Our Dairy Plant No.1 makes all types of dairy, including milk, yogurt, sour cream. It is located in the city of Minsk and supplies the capital city with dairy products. Plus, we are interested in collaboration not only in milk processing, but also in production. You build farms, we do this too: we could study each other's expertise and knowledge and adopt best practices,” said Aleksandr Turchin.

The Minsk Oblast delegation is on a three-day visit to Guangdong Province. On 29 July Aleksandr Turchin toured a number of Chinese enterprises.
