Minsk Motor Plant's export up 22% in January-May 2021

MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – In January-May 2021, Minsk Motor Plant increased export by 22% year-on-year, BelTA learned from the press service of the enterprise.

“As of late May, export accounted for almost 37% of total sales. Diesel engines were the most popular product, accounting for over 78% of the sales in monetary terms,” the press service said.

Minsk Motor Plant's export markets include 21 countries. It delivers engines, their spare parts, and machinery to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Czechia, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Germany, and other countries. Russia accounted for over 28% of the total export in January-May 2021.

Minsk Motor Plant plans to continue increasing supplies of products to Uzbekistan, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Pakistan. The company also sees great prospects in new markets: the countries of Southeast Asia and Africa, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Turkey, and so on.

Expanding the distribution network contributes to export growth. For example, in January, Minsk Motor Plant concluded an agreement with a big company in Tajikistan, in March – with companies from Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan, and in May – with an industrial enterprise from Pakistan.

In order to boost sales in the Ural Federal District and the Siberian Federal District of Russia, Minsk Motor Plant opened a branch of its trading house in the city of Tyumen in April 2021. “Thanks to the new facility, we will be able to facilitate the supply of engines to our customers in the Ural Federal District, most of which are located in Chelyabinsk Oblast and Sverdlovsk Oblast,” the press service explained.

Minsk Motor Plant is also working to establish business ties with enterprises and organizations of the Siberian Federal District. The new branch will help expand the pool of industrial enterprises that use engines of Minsk Motor Plant in their finished goods and improve the quality of maintenance services thanks to constant supply of a wide range of engines and their spare parts.

In 2021, Minsk Motor Plant established cooperation with three assembly plants from Russia's Izhevsk and Chelyabinsk, and a big plant in Saint Petersburg.

“Minsk Motor Plant will continue promoting its exports. Everything is in place for this, economic environment is favorable, and the interest of partners is growing,” the press service of the enterprise stressed.
