Minsk hosts business forum of Belarus and Russia’s Tyumen Oblast

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – The business forum of Belarus and Tyumen Oblast of the Russian Federation was held in Minsk on 19 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).

The event was organized by the BelCCI during the visit of a Tyumen Oblast business delegation under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tyumen Oblast. The goal of the forum was to build contacts between companies, exchange proposals, communicate information about each other’s needs and find potential partners.

According to BelCCI Deputy Chairman Denis Meleshkin, this is Belarus’ first major event involving Tyumen Oblast in several years. Belarus has a lot to offer to this Russian region in the manufacturing industry, agriculture and energy sector. Representatives of the Russian region could see this for themselves when visiting Belarusian enterprises, the BelCCI noted.

Denis Meleshkin expressed confidence that the visit of the Tyumen Oblast delegation to the Belarusian capital will be productive and fruitful, and it will result in building meaningful contacts.

Deputy Energy Minister Denis Moroz is convinced that such meetings and negotiations will lay a good foundation for expanding relations between the two countries: “Tyumen Oblast is ahead of other regions of the Russian Federation in terms of trade with our country. Today a historic event is taking place. The fact that the Tyumen Oblast delegation is so big and versatile shows that this Russian region is as interested in expanding relations as we are. By joining forces, we will help businesses build contacts, find common ground, discuss current problems and thrash out plans for the future.”

President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tyumen Oblast Olga Ezikeyeva is confident that bilateral cooperation will gain momentum: “We can safely say that we will return home with new agreements signed and new areas of cooperation identified.”

One of the effective tools for intensifying trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Tyumen Oblast are B2B negotiations, which are regularly held as part of various business events, such as exhibitions, forums, conferences, seminars, etc. Today, B2B negotiations were attended by representatives of more than 20 Tyumen Oblast enterprises and organizations working in such areas as the production of oil and gas equipment and other types of equipment, the production of petrochemical and electrical products, trailers, supply of spare parts for special-purpose equipment, production of treatment facilities, drilling equipment, metal structures, polypropylene mesh, rapeseed oil, as well as information technology, leasing and other sectors.
