Minsk Automobile Plant presents MAZ 271 apron bus at NAIS 2021 in Moscow

MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) - The Minsk Automobile Plant has presented the apron bus MAZ 271 at the National Aviation Infrastructure Show NAIS 2021 in Moscow, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark).

“The new bus with the symbol of Belarus - blue cornflowers on board – has attracted a lot of attention of participants and guests of the forum. Russian Transport Minister Vitaly Saveliyev visited the MAZ stand on 9 February. He gave a thumb-up to MAZ 271 for the well-designed technical solutions and the updated layout of a bus cabin. This is a joint development of MAZ designers and specialists of the Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus," the press service said.

MAZ is the only manufacturer of apron buses in the CIS countries. MAZ 271 (a second generation of this vehicle) meets the international requirements laid out in the IATA Airport Handling Manual. It is much cheaper than European counterparts. The bus is powered by a 7.2-liter Euro-5 Mercedes-Benz OM 926 LA diesel engine and an automatic six-speed Allison T270 transmission.

MAZ 271 has better passenger safety. The wheel arches have been reduced, the lower levers of the doors go under the floor. The bus has the information system and LED "light lines". The bus has six double doors for passengers and two single-section doors for the driver. Thanks to the thermal veils integrated into the bus heating system and placed above each door, the cabin keeps warm in cold weather, and cool - in the heat.

Instead of rear view mirrors, MAZ 271 is equipped with rear view cameras and a modern video surveillance system. The driver's cabin features displays showing everything around the bus and inside it, and also an independent air heater and a comfortable air-suspended seat with various adjustments. The modern design of MAZ 271 with floor-to-roof glazing deserves special attention.

More details about the bus can be found at the stand of MAZ - Managing Company of Belavtomaz Holding Company at NAIS 2021 running in Crocus Expo on 9-10 February.

Attending the annual forum that marks Civil Aviation Day are more than 4,000 professionals from 66 Russian regions and 30 countries. These are representatives of airports, airlines, design and research institutes, aircraft manufacturers and other industry associations. “The two-day show will provide all stakeholders with the opportunity to expand their activities in the rapidly developing airport industry market of Russia. According to the Russian Ministry of Transport, at least 65 regional airports will be reconstructed or rebuilt by 2025,” the press service said.

Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) is one of Belarus' largest mechanical engineering companies. It specializes in making heavy-duty trucks, special-purpose vehicles, buses, trolleybuses, and trailing units. MAZ is a well-known international brand. MAZ vehicles are compliant with the environmental standards Euro 5 and 6. The company makes a total of over 500 models and modifications of tractor units, dropside trucks, and chassis for mounting various kinds of equipment.
