MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Belarus' foreign trade surplus continues growing, the Economy Ministry commented on the H1 results, BelTA has learned.
In January-June 2022, the surplus of foreign trade hit $2.3 billion, a record high for the past 10 years. "Such a high surplus is due to a significant reduction in imports of goods and services," the Economy Ministry said.
Such a result was achieved by means of ramping up the production of goods in demand in foreign markets and also thanks to import substitution efforts and timely adjustment of production plans and logistics chains, the ministry added.
