Ministry: Minsk industrial flagships MAZ, MTZ have not halted operations despite sanctions

ST PETERSBURG, 16 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Kharitonchik spoke about how the sanctions affected the work of Minsk industrial flagships MAZ and MTZ at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, BelTA has learned.

"They have not halted operations even for a minute. Of course, there are difficulties with the supply of certain components, but these difficulties are not critical. Production and export at MAZ have been growing nicely over last year. The growth is quite substantial. We expect it at 40% in January-May," said Dmitry Kharitonchik.

According to him, MTZ has not posted such significant growth. However, the company has shown good results year-on-year. "The measures that we took on localization have born fruit, and the sanctions did not affect them badly," the deputy minister emphasized.
