MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – Belarus' manufacturing industry did well in 2024 and remains on the growth track this year, Head of the Foreign Trade Forecasting Department of the Economy Ministry Yulia Zubar told journalists on the sidelines of the second business conference “Industrial Complex of the Republic of Belarus: Export, Import Independence, Effective Management” in Minsk, BelTA reports.

“Our industry continues to demonstrate strong performance. The industrial output keeps expanding. Last year was quite successful for the manufacturing industry, and we are building on the positive dynamics this year. One of the  biggest challenges we are facing is competition on sales markets. In the eastern direction, for example, we are facing tough competition from Chinese and other Asian partners,” Yulia Zubar noted.

The Belarusian government is taking measures to boost export. In particular, export promotion programs and cooperation programs with the countries of Latin America and Africa have been developed. “In other words, we are focused on these sales markets,” she explained.

The conference “Industrial Complex of the Republic of Belarus: Export, Import Independence, Effective Management” brought together representatives of government agencies and leading industrial enterprises to discuss development strategies for the industrial complex of Belarus. Taking part in the event are representatives of the Economy Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research, the Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom, the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, BelGISS, the National Center for Marketing and Price Study, the Foreign Economic Activity Agency, BelGee, BelAZ, and other government agencies, organizations, and enterprises.
