MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) - Scientists should join forces with the real sector of economy, Belarusian Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar said during a joint meeting of the board of the Economy Ministry, the State Committee for Science and Technology and the Development Bank, BelTA learned.
The main topic of the event was promising scientific developments. Yuri Chebotar emphasized the critical need to match the work of the scientific community with the needs of the real sector of the economy.
“New instruments of the state investment policy create unique opportunities for prompt transformation of advanced scientific developments into production investment projects. This contributes to the creation of domestic analogues of imported goods and emergence of fundamentally new Belarusian products,” the minister said.
Yuri Chebotar also emphasized that priority support will go for new products and prototypes that have a high commercial potential, that are innovative and can strengthen the technological security of the country. Such developments are expected to bring significant economic or other benefits.
“Forming a pool of such promising projects requires a systemic and carefully considered approach,” Yuri Chebotar added.
