MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – The manufacturing industry performed pretty well in 2024, Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov told journalists prior to the meeting to review performance of companies affiliated with the Industry Ministry in 2024, BelTA has learned.
Over the past few years, the manufacturing industry has met most of key targets, increased output and export, Aleksandr Yefimov remarked.
From 2021 to 2024, despite external pressure from unfriendly countries, the Industry Ministry performed better than projected by Belarus’ socio-economic development program for the current five-year period. According to the minister, over the four years of the five-year period, the industrial output expanded by 43.3% (the target was 24.6%), and the export grew by 68.8% (the target was 36.3%).
“The industry completed the year 2024 with good results. In 2025, we also plan to grow at a record pace,” the minister emphasized.
The meeting of the Industry Ministry is set to take stock of performance in 2024 and discuss plans for 2025. The meeting is attended by representatives of enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry, as well as heads of other government agencies. The meeting is presided by Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich.
