
MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) - In 2024 Belarus transported over 240,000 tonnes of cargo by rail towards the ports of Astrakhan Oblast, said Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Lyakhnovich, BelTA learned from the Transport and Communications Ministry.
According to the minister, cargo transportation keeps growing in 2025. Thus, according to preliminary data, about 60,000 tonnes of Belarusian export cargoes were transported through Astrakhan ports in January-April.
A meeting of the working group on cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Astrakhan Oblast of the Russian Federation was held in Minsk on 2 May. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Lyakhnovich, the Russian delegation - by Governor Igor Babushkin. A protocol was signed following the meeting.
