MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) - Belarus is interested in supplying food, passenger vehicles and farm machines to Krasnodar Krai of Russia, Belarusian Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Aleksei Bogdanov told the media following the talks with Governor of the Russian region Veniamin Kondratyev in Minsk on 11 February, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus is interested in partnership with Krasnodar Krai. It's a very good market for us. We've agreed to develop relations in terms of supplying Belarusian farm machines and passenger vehicles. There is a particularly great interest in our electric buses and passenger vehicles powered by gas engine fuel. In addition, we are interested in supplying food products there: cheeses, meat products, bakery, and confectionery. We will be working to step up our trade together. In 2021, it rose by 14% and amounted to almost $350 million, with Belarusian exports up by 15.6% to $250 million,” Aleksei Bogdanov noted.
Governor of Krasnodar Krai Veniamin Kondratyev stressed that the negotiations went very well. "We will not only expand the horizons of trade and economic cooperation, but also, probably, set up the production of tractors jointly with the MTZ engineering company in order to bring BELARUS tractors closer to our farmers. It is also important for us that passenger transport is environmentally friendly, therefore we need electric buses. Buses running on gas engine fuel can also be the subject of our further cooperation," he said.
