MINSK, 7 March (BelTA) - Cooperation between Belarus and Myanmar will bring good results, Chairman of the State Administrative Council, Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing said at the opening of the Belarus-Myanmar business forum in Minsk on 6 March, BelTA has learned.
Belarus and Myanmar are agricultural countries, Min Aung Hlaing said. “If we work together and apply high technologies in agriculture, we will get good results. We are interested in mutually beneficial cooperation,” he emphasized.

After meeting with Belarusian companies in January 2025, Myanmar businesses have shown interest in developing cooperation with Belarus in various fields. “Then our representatives held many meetings with relevant companies. Our country is an agricultural one, so we need technologies and best practices to improve its level. Fertilizers can be cited as one of the examples. Within the framework of the forum, Myanmar plans to sign a contract for the supply of fertilizers from Belarus, and also a trial batch of about 1,000 tonnes of milk powder and baby food,” Myanmar’s leader said.

If countries want to raise the level of agriculture, they need high technologies, Min Aung Hlaing added. “I know that Belarus has good technologies in agriculture,” he said. “A contract will be signed to buy Belarusian tractors at today’s forum. We will continue working together in the agricultural sector.”

Myanmar is also ready to cooperate with Belarus in pharmaceuticals. “The distance between our countries is big, but we are very close to each other. I'm sure that our cooperation will bring good results,” he said.
