MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) - Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) is set to deliver 60 buses to Penza Oblast of Russia in the near future, the enterprise's press service told BelTA.
A delegation from Penza Oblast led by Governor Oleg Melnichenko toured MAZ. The governor emphasized the great potential for developing cooperation with MAZ, noting that the region is particularly interested in dump trucks, utility vehicles and passenger machines produced by the plant.
During the visit, MAZ, the managing company of the BELAVTOMAZ holding group, and one of the largest transport operators in Penza Oblast signed a cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, the Dilizhans group of companies plans to purchase 60 compressed natural gas-powered MAZ 203 buses in the near future.
Penza has already purchased 94 Gorozhanin trolleybuses based on MAZ vehicle kits. The city residents highlight their convenience. Their autonomous running allows local transport operators to create routes independent of the contact network, which is a great advantage.
