MAZ expands bus supplies to Russia’s Rostov-on-Don

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – Mayor of Russia’s Rostov-on-Don Alexander Skryabin has inspected and taken a ride on a new compressed natural gas-powered MAZ 303 bus. The event was attended by Sergei Koronchik, MAZ-RUS Director General, and representatives from Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark), who were in the city for an official visit, BelTA learned from the MAZ press service.
During the working meeting, the parties discussed issues of further cooperation, as well as plans for the development of public transport in Rostov. Today, MAZ vehicles are used in various sectors within the city. For example, 211 MAZ buses operate on city routes.

The MAZ 303, in a bright orange color, is the first bus with the third-generation body in the region. The Rostov Oblast Government purchased the vehicle at the end of last year after it was presented at an exhibition held during the opening of the Belarusian Machinery multi-brand center based at the MAZ South regional center. Experts and representatives of the transport industry highly praised the exhibited model, noting its environmental friendliness, modern design, improved cabin ergonomics, and enhanced level of passenger comfort. It was these demonstrated technical advantages that became the key factor influencing the purchase decision.
