MOSCOW, 26 January (BelTA) - Following the talks with Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi on 25 January, Mayor of Russia’s Arkhangelsk Dmitry Morev told BelTA about the attitude of local residents to Belarusian products, including passenger vehicles.
"Belarusian products are widely represented in our retail chains and stores. They are in great demand here and this is for a reason. I can definitely say that the good attitude of Arkhangelsk residents to Belarusian products is due to their high quality and good reputation. This pertains not only to foodstuffs, but also to other goods that are widely represented here”, Dmitry Morev said.
He added that the city has great interest in Belarusian machinery. "Today we are certainly interested in them. We have carried out a transport reform in the city and completely switched to natural gas fuel. We purchased more MAZ buses that are already in operation in the city. Everybody notices that the passenger experience in Arkhangelsk has significantly improved. I suppose, we will continue to cooperate with MAZ as we will be renewing our passenger transportation fleet,” the mayor informed.
"We are certainly interested in municipal machinery, in particular, in aerial work platforms, tractors and municipal equipment produced by Amkodor, MAZ and other manufacturers. Today such purchases are made by our municipality and our municipal institutions,” Dmitry Morev said.
"Belarusian machinery is competitive and their purchase pays off. People do not have to learn from scratch how to operate it. We have maintenance centers and repair facilities that bring spare parts without any problems. This is one of the main advantages of Belarusian machinery," the mayor concluded.
