Made in Belarus shop opens in China's Chongqing

MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – An all-Belarusian shop has opened in Chongqing, China, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Beijing.

The shop is named Valosha; it sells Belarusian products which are in demand in China: milk, cheese, meat, vegetable oil, flour, chocolate, and alcoholic drinks. Belarus and Chongqing have been cooperating since 2011, when the two countries got linked by the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe railway which opened up new opportunities for boosting trade and economic contacts. In 2016, Minsk Oblast and Chongqing signed a twinning agreement which, in particular, envisages the development of trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation.

The Valosha brand was founded by Olga Zelkovskaya, a graduate of Minsk State Linguistic University, who also has a master's degree from Peking University (Philosophy Department). She has been living in China for over seven years by now. Olga plans to keep expanding the Valosha network in the country. The second shop is expected to open in Chengdu, the administrative center of Sichuan Province.
