GRODNO DISTRICT, 18 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko explained his interest in cultivating winter barley during a working visit to Grodno Oblast on 18 August, BelTA has learned.
“You see how convenient it is. I just name the advantages. I do not want everyone to think that I am enforcing the crop,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
“Yes, barley is a more delicate crop. We will succeed with it if we take the right technological approach,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
One of the advantages of growing winter barley is an early harvest and a chance for machine operators to test equipment before the main harvest season.
