Lakokraska to make first industrial batch of paint for Belarusian tractors in August

MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) – The first commercial batch of paint for Belarusian tractors will be made in the city of Lida this month, BelTA learned from Andrei Gurchin, Director of the Belarusian manufacturer of paints and varnishes OAO Lakokraska.

This import-substituting product was developed within the framework of a program together with the Industry Ministry. “Lab tests of the paint intended for the tractor factory [MTZ] have been fully completed. We intend to ship the paint to the tractor factory and fully replace these imported materials with our own in the future,” the company’s CEO said.

Andrei Gurchin stressed that the first commercial batch will be made this month. “After that we will proceed to the next stage: painting as part of the line assembly. We will test it as part of the line assembly process. We intend to genuinely take part in a tender in 2025,” he said.

At present the share of paints and varnishes intended for Industry Ministry enterprises stands at 34%. The share intended for Transport and Communications Ministry organizations exceeds 59%. Expanding the range of products meant for various branches of the manufacturing sector is one of the most promising avenues for OAO Lakokraska.

The implementation of investment projects and the performance of enterprises belonging to the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim in January-June were discussed at a session of the Belneftekhim Board in Svetlogorsk on 1 August. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchik took part in it. An exhibition was also organized at premises of OAO SvetlogorskKhimvolokno to showcase the main stages of development of Belneftekhim enterprises over 30 years, present major investment projects, and innovative goods of the petrochemical industry.
