Kochanova: Economic cooperation between Belarus, Russia keeps momentum

VITEBSK, 28 June (BelTA) - Economic cooperation between Belarus and Russia keeps the momentum, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said during a meeting with the heads of regional administrations of Belarus and Russia during the 11th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, BelTA has learned.

According to the speaker, despite the sanctions and ill-wishers, Belarus and Russia are pressing forward, defending and developing the Union State integration, taking into account national interests and demonstrating good growth.
"The trade in goods and services between our countries last year amounted to Br286 billion, or RUB8.1 trillion. In January-April of this year it approached Br101 billion, or RUB2.9 trillion. We see that the momentum continues," Natalya Kochanova said.

Interregional cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the constituent entities of the Russian Federation is carried out within the framework of 86 agreements concluded with 77 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. In 2023, seven intergovernmental agreements (new and updated) were signed. The Forum of Regions serves as a unique platform that opens up great prospects for close cooperation and interregional interaction.

Indeed, a lot has been done. But there is still a huge potential in the Belarusian-Russian relations, the speaker stressed.
