MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – Belarus exports a variety of goods to Vietnam, Deputy Director General for Foreign Economic Relations of the Minsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Irina Ivanova told reporters on the sidelines of the Belarus-Vietnam business forum in Minsk on 22 September, BelTA has learned.
The Belarus-Vietnam business forum is taking place in Minsk on 22 September, followed by bilateral negotiations. “We will explain how to work in Belarus, how to enter the Belarusian market. We will demonstrate the progress we have made. We may still be at the beginning of the journey, but we already have achievements to share, with contracts signed and cooperation underway. Of course, it is not enough. We believe trade should continue to grow. That is why we are hosting a large delegation of more than 20 companies in Minsk. They are set for very productive negotiations,” Irina Ivanova said.
“Belarus exports potash fertilizers, agricultural machinery, wood processing products, optical instruments, and integrated circuits. Vietnam is building up its presence on our market with supplies of auto parts, rice, seafood, and, of course, light industry products,” Irina Ivanova noted. “We see enormous potential in pharmaceuticals, IT, logistics, joint scientific research, and the food industry.”
She also noted that on the sidelines of the business forum a memorandum of understanding will be signed between the Minsk Office of the BelCCI and the Vietnamese Center for Trade and Investment Promotion. “I am confident that this will give an additional impetus to the development of bilateral relations and will also serve as a step towards our reciprocal visit to Vietnam,” Irina Ivanova emphasized.
