Kazakhstan shows interest in investment cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) - Kazakhstan is interested in investment cooperation with Belarus, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Belarus Yerlan Baizhanov told the media, BelTA has learned.

According to him, despite the difficulties associated with Western sanctions, the trade between Belarus and Kazakhstan amounts to $1 billion. He emphasized that all conditions have been created for Belarusian business in Kazakhstan. Belarus posts surplus in trade with Kazakhstan. “Belarusian chain stores and, very importantly, joint ventures are opening in Kazakhstan. Production is gradually localized. Several projects have been implemented in industrial cooperation, mainly in the production of agricultural and other machinery. These are very positive processes,” Yerlan Baizhanov said.

On 30 May, Minsk played host to a round table as part of Belarus-Kazakhstan Business Council. “Such meetings help businesses find common interests in the process of live communication. We would like investment cooperation to develop. There are great prospects in this area. We maintain contacts with representatives of Belarusian companies, and see great interest. We hope that today's meeting will give an impetus to the development of trade, economic, and investment and cooperation,” the ambassador emphasized.
