NESVIZH, 4 June (BelTA) – Iran has submitted a request to become an observer state in the EAEU, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev said following the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on 4 June, BelTA has learned.
“I would like to inform you that our trading partner Iran would like to obtain the observer status. The commission received such a request on 27 May. We will arrange all the necessary work in due manner,” said Bakytzhan Sagintayev.
The participants of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting approved a 12-point agenda. Some of the issues on the agenda were considered in a narrow format.
“The extended-format meeting focused on competition in cross-border markets, transport infrastructure development, digitalization of freight and rail transportation, monitoring and assessment of the regulatory impact of draft decisions of the commission,” the chairman of the EEC Board noted.
