MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – It is necessary to work harder to attract investment in the manufacturing sector, Deputy Economy Minister Anzhelika Nikitina said during her working trip to Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.
Anzhelika Nikitina reviewed progress in implementing the development plan for individual regions approved by the government. The deputy minister emphasized the need to focus on attracting investments in the manufacturing sector.
“By making targeted investments in promising projects run by existing production facilities, we increase the competitiveness of enterprises and create conditions for rolling out products that are in demand in the domestic market and abroad. This is a significant contribution to the sustainable economic growth of the regions. Of course, infrastructure is also important. The goal is high personal mobility and a possibility to reach a workplace within an hour. This way we will create incentives for people to stay in their place of birth instead of leaving for Minsk and oblast capitals. This is the social objective of our investment policy in the current five-year period,” Anzhelika Nikitina said.
