Interagency working group to work out proposals on improving Belarusian agribusiness effectiveness

MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – An interagency working group has been established by the prime minister's executive order to analyze the current state of affairs in Belarus' agribusiness and work out coordinated approaches to improving the effectiveness of agribusiness, BelTA has learned.

Led by Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Subbotin, the working group will have to analyze the current state of affairs, work out specific proposals, and submit them for consideration of the Council of Ministers by 5 January 2021.

The prime minister's executive order also specifies the main areas the group will have to focus on and the individuals responsible for working out the relevant proposals on pricing and taxation, financial and credit policy, competition promotion, scientific contribution to the development of agribusiness, new approaches and principles of interaction between producers of agricultural goods and processing enterprises, proposals on integrated structures as a way to bolster the economic stability of agribusiness, and proposals on staffing and human resources.

The Agriculture and Food Ministry will use results of the discussion about proposals of the working group in order to submit draft legislation meant to improve agribusiness effectiveness to the government by 1 March 2021.
