MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – Not a single plant in Belarus has stopped working due to problems with the availability of components. Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Kharitonchik made the statement on the air of the TV channel Belarus One, BelTA has learned.
Dmitry Kharitonchik said: “It is a continuous process after all. Some suppliers become unavailable while alternative suppliers are found. Components cannot be absolutely unavailable and the enterprise cannot stop working because of it. Not a single plant has stopped working in Belarus. All the plants are operating rather steadily, hitting their performance targets. Because solutions are found in any case.”
In his words, the list of missing imports is rather large. “Starting with various kinds of gears. But it doesn't mean our enterprises stop working if those are unavailable. There are always alternative suppliers. It is a matter of competition, of how logistic schemes, the price for a new product affect the price for the end product. We understand after all that we cannot allow prices for our products to rise substantially. The products have to remain competitive in any case,” the Belarusian deputy industry minister noted.
