YEREVAN, 1 October (BelTA) — Belarus will focus on industrial cooperation during its chairmanship in the EAEU, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Yerevan, BelTA has learned.
"Three out of 16 items on the meeting's agenda concern industrial policy in the EAEU. This is absolutely right. We should have moved from a trade union to deeper industrial integration for the benefit of the economies and industries of our countries a long time ago," Roman Golovchenko said.
The prime minister emphasized that this work would become one of the priorities of Belarus' chairmanship in the EAEU next year.

The Belarusian prime minister noted that the work in this direction is not efficient enough. "We see that the countries implement their own import-substituting and industrial development projects," he stated. "Our task is to find joint projects, which is not easy, I think. Our colleagues should pay the closest attention to this issue."
